Calderetang Kambing

Yes Fellow Foodies!!! This is one price dish that you don’t want to neglect. It is Calderetang Kambing.  During my recent travel in Davao, I was able to experience this one that is so delicious and generously sauced.  In Luzon, kalderetang kambing is usually served with the usual kaldereta sauce.  In my experience in Davao, it is literally swimming in sauce. I even taught that it was a soup dish similar to my favorite Balbacua. The taste was simply delicious. It was more enhance because it was served to us steamingly hot.

 

  

Where to Find

 

This Calderetang Kambing is the creation if Eva Custodio. Who’s restaurant is along km6, Diversion Road, Buhangin, Davao City. It is very near Orange Grove Hotel. Eva also serves other dishes like Balbacua and Tuna adobo, but this dish really caught my attention and pacified my craving for a morning food trip as soon as I arrived in Davao.  It was a new experience for me to eat Caldereta with soup and I bet you, once to taste it, you will be coming back for more.

Kalderetang Kambing by Blue Carabao

This is one dish that is always available anywhere in the Philippines. Kalderetang Kambing is also common during occasions specially in the rural areas wherein preparing goat for an occasion is something special. In Davao City, Kalderetang Kambing is available all even if there is no occasion.  This goes the same as to other areas.  There is this restaurant in Davao that serves this dish similar to the taste that I have been accustomed to.  The taste is nostalgic for me. It reminded me of our restaurant way back then.  The tastiness of the tomato sauce and the tenderness of the goat meat are excellent. This is a must have when you go there.  This is best with their hinalang ( which I will make another entry for this).

You may find Blue Carabao at Dr. 4-7 Sobrecarey st, Obrero, Davao City.  It is very need Victoria Plaza.   Their Kalderetang Kambing is very delicious and is very affordable.  You may also reach them at (082)305-6696 or to 0915-3637739.  Go there and experience their dishes.  You will be amazed with the taste and with the price.  This is something you will definitely come back.  Thanks to Francis and Sherry Scott for this wonderful Kalderetang Kambing.
