Lechon Kawali

July 3, 2009

Lechon has always been a part of our lives as a Filipino (except to our Muslim brothers and sisters) and is always present during special occasions.  But there are times that cravings come this is no where to find. The easiest solution to the problem is to have Lechon Kawali. When I feel like eating this, its either we make it on our own specially during weekend or if not, we go to Hap Chan. It is very good with their Yang Chow fried rice.  When they prepare their Lechon kawali, they serve it fresh from the frying pan and the outside part is very crispy. The skin of the pork is well popped similar to chicharon (crackling pork skin).   That is one reason why I am very much attached to it. Hehehe.

Where to Find

Hap Chan can be found mostly at areas where there are plenty of restaurants or in the mall. In our case, we use to go to Hap Chan Antipolo along Circumferential road, Antipolo City, It is near the road forking to Sumulong highway at Antipolo proper.  This is one of the dish that I always come back for.  Very Filipino and very much delicious. If you crave for Chinese Food, I suggest you go to this place and never forget that they have a very delicious lechon kawali. It is worth a try. Just make sure you have your regular maintenance before eating
